About the event

At Talk-a-While, we teach your child social skills acquisition and fluency through fun and engaging interactive activities, games, exercises and projects that your child can apply in the social world. Our approach is to teach foundational social skills concepts in a developmentally, age-appropriate environment where your child becomes an active participant in sharing his/her current understanding of the social world. Our goal is to identify and address socialization gaps and help your child understand social etiquette and norms, and practice effective social communication interactions.

Curriculum is based on instructional strategies including social thinking concepts by Founder of Social Thinking, Michelle Garcia Winner. We ask that families commit to the full program and attend all sessions.  The program is designed to provide foundational social skills for your child to learn, practice during the week and be reviewed later in the week.

Social skills groups are organized into small groups, up to 10 students per class. The class is led by a licensed and experienced clinician. Each class starts at 3:30 pm and ends at 4:45 pm. Your child is in his/her group session from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm, and parents/caregivers are required to attend the last 15 minutes each day for review of the social skills concept introduced and practiced in class.

After registering, we contact all families interested in these classes to schedule a 30-minute screening/observation to learn more about your child's temperament and personality and to assign your child appropriately within a class.

REGISTRATION COST:

$50 Screening Fee: includes a 30-minute screening/observation (Required )

$950 Enrollment Fee: includes 10 weeks of 1 hour group sessions, materials, and 15 minutes of caregiver/child review after each session.
